Pep Boys’ Master Technician, Scott Horst, has been named the Pep Boys’ 2025 ASE Master Automobile Technician of the Year, earning one of the industry’s most respected honors for excellence in automotive service and repair. Horst, who works at the Pep Boys in Bel Air, Maryland, was selected from a nationwide pool of ASE-certified professionals for his technical expertise, commitment to learning and dedication to his customers.
Horst has spent more than 14 years in the automotive service profession and joined Pep Boys two years ago. A graduate of Eastern Technical High School, he first discovered his passion for the trade as a student, choosing automotive studies as his career major. Over the years, he has earned multiple professional certifications and was previously recognized as NTB’s ASE Master Technician of the Year in 2021.
At Pep Boys Bel Air, Horst serves as a Master Technician and State Inspector. The award highlights his strong technical skills as well as his dependable, customer-focused approach. Widely regarded as a go-to resource in the shop, he consistently brings professionalism, problem-solving, and steady leadership to the team.
Horst was honored at the ASE Annual Awards Banquet, where he and other top technicians from across the country were recognized for their achievements.
